His design approach is rooted in how you use or aspire to use your external space to ensure each design response is unique to the site and your needs, whilst responding to your individual tastes and budget. He endeavours to understand how you view, use and associate with your space, whether it be an inner city courtyard or a rolling country estate and relishes the challenge that each project presents no matter what the scale.

The connection between house and garden is key, with the external space to be viewed as an external room, designed to complement your life style, interior decor and support how you live in your home.

A well designed external space should work hard for you no matter what its size, enriching your life and well being. In the same way as you’d approach a room in a house, every element in the garden needs to be carefully considered, from the floor to the walls, the ceiling and the lighting through to the furnishings and the ornaments, each component makes the whole, to provide a harmonious conclusion. For this reason Neil prefers to tackle whole garden projects so the entire space can be carefully considered as one, just as an artist paints a complete canvas and not part of a picture.
